In 2008, Fraser Thomas was engaged by Bridgewater Developments to provide structural design, specialist geotechnical advice, and construction observation and review services for nine new, two-storey, villa-style apartments in central Paihia. Selwyn Villas located at 22-26 Selwyn Road are boutique, luxury, 3-beroom villa-style apartments catering for those who want or need to be close to amenities, and those seeking convenient and stylish holiday accommodation.

Selwyn Villas are two-storey apartments utilising tilt-slab and reinforced masonry walls and floor.

Services provided by Fraser Thomas included:

• Site testing for geotechnical analysis
• Geotechnical analysis of site and Geotechnical Investigation Report on suitability of the site for the proposed development
• Recommendations for foundation design and cut/fill specifications
• Structural design and detailing of foundations, retaining walls, pre-cast tilt-slab walls, timber beams, and framing
• Stormwater design
• Construction monitoring and review of piling, foundations, floor slab, concrete/masonry, and walls
• Construction supervision of water main deviation, stormwater system, piling, carpark sealing, and paving.
